Pastor Alex Kim has been serving as the English Ministry Pastor at Sydney Young Nak Presbyterian Church since 2020. With a heart for the next generation of Christians, his ministry centres on preaching the Word, providing pastoral care, and leading the church toward spiritual growth and deeper community.

A graduate of Christ College, Pastor Alex has served in several churches across Sydney, primarily within second-generation English-speaking ministries. His desire is to see every person in the church grow in their relationship with God and with one another, living lives shaped by worship and a passion for the Gospel.

He is committed to helping the congregation understand and apply the Word of God rightly, so that they may be deeply rooted in Christ. His favourite verses, Romans 8:38–39, remind him—and those he shepherds—of the inseparable love of God that anchors every believer.

Alex is married to Jo-Anne, and together they have four children—Joel, Emma, Theo, and Gabby. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, especially over meals, and loves discovering new foods from different cultures.

Anthony oversees the Worship Department. We believe that worshipping God is the purpose of our existence and this is especially true of the worship that happens every Sunday when we gather together as one. Anthony oversees many aspects of Sunday worship. He strives to help everyone who walks in through the doors of SYNC to feel welcomed and to be called by the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is married to Jess, they have two children and Sunday is their favourite day of the week!

Christine oversees the Admin Department at SYNC, which includes Finances and Communications. Passionate about creating processes and systems, she serves faithfully behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of the church. Her goal is to provide the support and structure that allow every ministry to flourish and focus on sharing the gospel.

Tommy oversees the Fellowship Department at SYNC, which includes Men’s and Women’s Ministry, Young Adults, Events, and Family Ministry. Passionate about creating engaging events that strengthen church community, Tommy’s goal is to connect everyone and ensure each person feels at home and valued within the SYNC family.

Esther oversees the Missions & Evangelism Department at SYNC, which includes Missions, Community Pantry, and Allowah. Passionate about growing a heart for the lost, Esther helps coordinate evangelism opportunities within SYNC EM, organises monthly Community Pantry events to provide groceries for our neighbours, and serves at Allowah through a monthly kids’ church on Sunday afternoons. Her goal is to equip our community to live missionally and to share the love and hope of Jesus in both word and action.

James oversees the Community Department at SYNC which focuses on fostering deeper relationships, discipleship and spiritual growth through community groups. His vision is to build genuine communities and relationships where people can grow in faith together, feel seen and supported and find a place to belong within the wider SYNC family.

Sara oversees the Education Department at SYNC with a special focus on children’s ministry (SYNC Kids). Sara is passionate about building strong relationships with the children and their parents and supporting each family's spiritual journey. Her vision is for the church to shepherd the children with a heart for cultivating Christ-like care, always pointing them to Christ. Sara strives to create an environment where the children can grow in faith and know they are deeply loved by God.
